MEETING WITH A LOCAL

Aline Tourneur

Your passion in life?

« Clay.

Creating soft shapes.

I love the plasticity of raw clay, giving free rein to 3D creation.

And, of course, the magic of firing, which makes it solid and sublime with enameling or smokering.

Inhabiting my creations with simple flowers.».

Your favorite in the south of France?

« The omnipresent light, the contrast of colors, the pure blue sky, the palette of warm ochres and the green vegetation of the village of Roussillon. ».

3 tourist experiences in the region that you particularly like?

  • The walk to the château pointu (Haut de Villeneuve) with its breathtaking view of the Rhône, the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Ventoux, the Vaucluse mountains, the Luberon and the Alpilles.
  • The Abbey of Sénanque when the lavender is in bloom (contrast between the dazzling whiteness of the stone and the mauve of the flowers).
  • At dawn, birdsong on the plain of Villeneuve lès Avignon abbey, where you can admire the fort, the Saint André abbey, the Philippe-Le-Bel tower and, a little further on, the Palais des Papes.

Your advice for our guests?

« Be curious, get off the beaten track. Meet the people of Villeneuve.  »

Music found in your travel playlist?

Petite Fleur de Sydney Bechet. J’adore le jazz.”

Your little grain of madness?

Living the land day and night.

Your favorite local dish?

“Eggplant or zucchini fritters. “

If you were a tourist attraction in the region...

I love our old villages steeped in history. In Villeneuve we’re spoilt for choice!.
